Slow matter.s was a pop-up performance series taking place from June to September 2023 in New York City. We curated a space dedicated to reclaiming the right to rest and contemplation — rejecting the distractions of contemporary life. We hosted Lo-Tek events in public spaces and salons where, through spoken word and live music, we invited participants to turn their phones off and tap into their own creative space. The themes were different each time and centered on hosting intimate spaces to disconnect and reconnect.
